Tried to create a L1 exam for Stefan Stanisic, DCI# 3410766606. Got cooldown message, but can only find a previous L1 exam from January 2018. Answers for that exam have apparently not been submitted (it was created by someone else) but that probably shouldn’t cause a cooldown message?
Obv I can override the cooldown with mahh RC powers, but Stefan’s local L2 can’t and that’s why I got involved.
The exam from January is exactly the problem. We consider him to be “in cooldown” for that exam, because if we didn’t, someone might have no idea that another judge already generated an exam for him. Worse, we don’t know when that exam was taken - or if it even was - so we can’t calculate the correct cooldown, and we don’t know if he should be considered to have already “seen” the questions on his old exam.
So I guess I’m not sure what to do with this. We can’t just delete the exam, since he may have taken it, or at the minimum, someone saw those questions. However, he shouldn’t take that exam now, because it probably contains some out of date questions. I can manually score the old exam as a 0%, I suppose - but I don’t know how well that scales to other older exams that were never used…
BTW, the guy you assigned to proctor this L1 Exam (ID 52647) is the same guy who created and never entered results for the old L1 Exam (ID 10348)…
Probably, yes. It’s worth drawing a distinction between practice exams (which are online, so we can just delete them if the candidate didn’t start it yet) and paper exams (which we can’t tell if it actually happened or not). I’ll work on a script to do just this, including sending reminder emails let’s say 1 week before killing the exam.
