This is a reference for JudgeApps Exams, and especially for the process being introduced that expires old exams.
JudgeApps exams consist of a list of questions which is generated when the exam is created. When an question is updated, the new version is generally available on exams, however, exams are not updated when questions are removed from the pool entirely, or paused pending updates. The longer an exam sits idle without being completed, the more out of date it may become.
Accordingly, we will now be expiring exams that have not been taken within a certain period of time. This time period is 60 days for online exams, and 90 days for printed exams. We will send an email notification with 30 days remaining in this period. 30 days later, the exam will be expired.
For online exams, the exam will be deleted at the end of the period as long as it has not been viewed. If the exam was viewed but never completed, it will be scored as 0%.
For printed exams, we have no way to tell if the candidate has seen the exam or not, however, if we score the exam as 0%, the candidate will be able to see the questions and answers. Accordingly, we always delete incomplete printed exams instead of scoring them 0%.
Please make sure to promptly enter the results of exams that you create, to avoid deletion.
