I would like to request access to view judge apps pictures. I use this to see who I am working with a to remember names. I know this was recently removed for L0s, but I was wondering if I could get an exception/ permission to view pictures.
This is not possible. Many users have requested a way to prevent mis-use of the photograph that they choose to upload to JudgeApps, which is why we’ve added the setting that allows users to control who their photo is shared with. Over time, perhaps more users will choose to make those photos visible more widely, as a few dozen already have. However, granting exceptions would counter the purpose of adding this privacy setting in the first place.
We’re going to need an approval level/filter for scorekeepers and OPS who are not certified Judges to see these. Excluding them because of certification level isn’t a suitable reason for the long term.
As an aside problem, blogs.magicjudges.org pulls pictures from Apps, but many of the pictures will not display unless you are logged into Judge Apps with an approved account. I assume the owner has to approve their picture for use outside of Apps in this case?

There isn’t really a way to do this. We don’t have a permissions level for “has ever been on an event of a specific type”, and even if we did, I don’t think it makes sense as a fourth option for this setting. “Certified” is the default because those users are subject to the code of conduct, so there are at least consequences if they abuse access to personal information. If users don’t care about that, but want to avoid their photo showing up to everyone, then we have the “Registered” setting, and if users don’t consider their profile photo private at all, then they can choose “Everyone”. I think any users who would use “Certified or has ever been on a GP”, if it was an option, would choose “Registered” today.

This is correct. The viewer needs to be logged in to JudgeApps with an account that matches the photograph owner’s privacy setting, or the photograph owner needs to set their privacy setting to “everyone”. It would be silly to treat photos as private within apps but then let anyone who visits Judge Anniversaries - Celebrating Our Arbitrary Amounts of Time TogetherJudge Anniversaries | Celebrating Our Arbitrary Amounts of Time Together scrape them all.
