Card links using the [card][/card] tags are a bit buggy. They sometimes only load halfway, they don’t disappear when I mouse away from them unless I first mouse over the image, and they don’t show oracle text for older cards. These three things combined make them rather awkward.
I would suggest displaying oracle text rather than pictures and having the display disappear as soon as the mouse moves away from the link itself. Displaying only oracle text would allow them to load much faster on slow connections, and a picture could be loaded in afterwards for people who prefer a more visual display.
Alternatively, could a setting be added to allow turning off card links altogether on the client? Many people use a plugin called Autocard Anywhere that does something similar with card names on any web page with the improvements mentioned above, but the built in judgeapps links override it. It would be nice to be able to simply turn them off on the user end.
